We build digital tools for universities and institutes

Software, websites and AI tools that research institutions run on – and a set of tools for the students and researchers inside them.

What we build for institutions

Tools, platforms and websites for universities, research institutes and public organisations – built from the first prototype to production, and looked after afterwards.

Selected work

NazivIER – research-title calculator built for the Institute for Economic Research

Habilis · NazivIER

Institute for Economic Research. Research-title eligibility calculated from COBISS and SICRIS under the institute’s own rulebook – hours of manual scoring per application, now in seconds.

izvrs.si – website of the Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia

izvrs.si

Institute for Water of the Republic of Slovenia. A bilingual website with news, references and staff, rebuilt to meet the Slovenian accessibility act.

Ohmleta.si – website of an ARIS research project on energy poverty

Ohmleta.si

An ARIS research project on energy poverty. Research results people can try: a household calculator, plain-language answers and the team behind the work.

TranskriptIERaj – IER toolbox for transcribing and coding interviews

TranskriptIERaj

Institute for Economic Research. An internal AI toolbox for transcribing and coding interviews, with open models and no stored recordings.

delavnice.net – portal that connects schools with NGOs offering workshops

delavnice.net

A portal for schools and NGOs. Schools look for workshops for their pupils by region and type of activity; the NGOs that run them present their programmes in one place.

Services

Expert guidance on implementing AI in education and the workplace – from strategy to execution.

Workshops and training in digital skills, cybersecurity and AI tools – for teams, students and educators.

Tailored generative AI chatbots for universities and businesses, built around specific workflows and needs.

Modern, fast and purposeful websites and platforms for science dissemination – built to grow with you.

Professional statistical analysis for students and researchers – from descriptive statistics to regression, with clear interpretation and graphs.

Similarity checks for theses and papers, with a clear report on what to cite or rewrite before you submit.

Start with a short call: you describe the process that slows your institution down, we tell you what we would build, how long it takes and what it costs.

Tools for students and researchers

Each tool removes one specific obstacle in academic work. All of them start free, with ten tokens a day.

Cite

Available now · 10 free tokens a day

Citations that follow your university’s style guide. Paste a DOI, get a finished reference.

TechCheck

Available now · 10 free tokens a day

Automated formatting and citation review for final theses, before they reach the faculty.

SciComic

Available now · 10 free tokens a day

Turns a research paper into a science comic or a visual abstract.

SciBLIND

Available now · 10 free tokens a day

Online experiments, surveys and vignette studies, run remotely and without bias.

Lumen

Early access · 10 free tokens a day

A calm dashboard for a doctorate: milestones, studies, literature and mentor updates.

One account for every tool

Sign in once and use the same tokens in Cite, SciBLIND, TechCheck and SciComic. Ten free tokens are added every day.

SciComic output

SciComic sample: Can trade unions act sustainably?
SciComic sample: Predicting energy poverty
SciComic sample: How media portray ageing
SciComic sample: Mosaic of peace

Real comics made with SciComic from research papers.

How pricing works

Start free if you are one person. Talk to us if you are an institution.

Students and researchers

Ten free tokens every day in Cite, TechCheck, SciComic, SciBLIND and Lumen. In Cite, one token is one citation.

Subscriptions are coming. Monthly plans that include a set number of tokens are on the way. We will publish them here when they are ready.

Lumen is in early access.

Institutions

Licences and projects, agreed with you. We set the scope and the price together after a short call.

  • SciBLIND for a whole team, with shared tokens
  • TechCheck and Habilis for a faculty or institute
  • Custom tools and websites, built around your process

Built by scientists, for scientists

ScAIentist® was born where curiosity meets rigorous research. We are a small team of researchers, designers and engineers in Ljubljana who believed the tools available to academics were stuck in the past – so we started building better ones.

Since 2023 our team has received two awards for social impact in two different countries and the University of Ljubljana Rector’s Award for one of the best social innovations, was featured by EU-Startups among Slovenian startups to watch and has taken our tools from first prototype to production.

»ScAIentist® lives at the intersection of rigid academic principles and cutting edge digital technology, proving that these two worlds can seamlessly coexist.«

Don't take our word for it

What people say about working with us.

Imagine having an idea that can have a global outreach but not knowing how to make it accessible and in touch with current times and technology. I can say from my own experience that ScAIentist has helped me how to find needed data, integrate it properly and also gave me some brand new ideas.

Matic Valič

‘ScAIentist’ helped me use existing language- and image-generating AI tools to translate one of my research papers into a popular science form. I recommend working with ScAIentist even without any app!

Sanja Markovic

Working with Luka from ScAIentist was a unique mentorship experience. Our work was focused on learning English at an academic level. Luka, as a mentor, helped me learn how to use academic English while researching, but also shared with me useful sites and articles I could use.

Vidak Tomović

I worked with Luka and he was of great help. He showed me how to use AI for research (academic and other) in an ethical way, which was very reassuring given the doubts I’ve had about using AI for such purposes.

Juš Javornik

Numerous AI tools are emerging every day and it’s hard to keep track of them, combine them and use their full potential. Not to mention the pricing. At ScAIentist everything just made sense.

Aleksa Martinović

Luka was very helpful when assisting me with completing my thesis. I would recommend him to all colleagues. He walked me through the editing and submitting part very clearly.
